Lately Canada has seemed to be the place where a lot of new businesses are booming. They are still experiencing portions of this global recession, but they also have a stronger economy and more potential. That is why a lot of companies are offering new jobs like DirectBuy. Whether these are better than their State side counterparts is unknown at this time, but if you have a passport, it may be worth checking out.

My friend helped make this video, so I thought I would show a clip of what's on it.

He was one of the editors on this project. I'm glad to see he's getting work, especially with how the market is going right now.

Yes, I know we just had Mother's Day, and Memorial Day is right around the corner, but it doesn't feel like May in Miami.  We've had some freak weather, like a heat wave that made everyone complain, but the thing that really gets me is the lack of rain.  Every piece of grass you see is parched, and the water restrictions don't help.  There was even a huge fire in central Florida around palm bay that devastated the area because of the dryness.  I was expecting showers when I came to Miami, and so far, not a real one.  At least it isn't Hurricane season yet, though my coworkers joke that it is always hurricane season.

We're planning on doing something with water this weekend, either snorkeling or just going to the beach for a barbeque.  I just have to get a haircut first, as thats my priority for this weekend.  Then I can show it off to my friends.

Blogging has not been friendly.  I've been swamped with Twitter, Flickr, and so many other websites, it is so tough to stay on track.  Oh, and the sites that supposedly group all your sites together are a joke.

I am going to try to post more often here, but wanted to let you know aside from the usual complaints, things are going well.

Work has been really crazy as of late.  Also, I've been exploring Wordpress.

But thanks for the friend adds.

Hope everything is going great.

The weather is icky right now.

And now I gotta get back to work.

Another week at work, still construction going on next door, but at least we can use the sidewalk now.

There still has been no site of winter yet in Miami.  Constant high 70s to 80s, although we are starting to get a breeze.  And possibly a tropical depression, which would be nice as we could use more rain, especially around Lake Okeechobee.

I have some LJ friends now.  I'm looking forward to talking to them on livejournal.  Especially the one also from Florida.

Really nothing much other than that going on.  A pretty uneventful week thus far, and just waiting until the weekend as usual.

My DSL is back on at home.  I wrote down all the info needed, so I should never have that issue again.

I have a lot planned for this weekend: seeing some friends, getting a haircut.  I'm looking forward to it, but I'm a bit at that point where I just want to go home now.

I've been reading up on the WGA strike.  It is horrible what those corporations are trying to do.  It is shame that at this point in time, the common person has no power.  Whatever happened to the needs of the many out way the needs of the few?

I'm still waiting on a lot of the gifts I ordered on Cyber Monday to get here.  I'm glad my Jewish friends are patient.

Well, I need to get back to work, and by that I mean feigning like I'm working.  Only a few more hours to go.

Work has been hectic since entering the month of December. We have evaluations due, and of course are just trying to get as much work completed now in order to have more days off for Winter Break.

However, we do have a few ways to keep our sanity up during our periods of "if I see one more spreadsheet, I'm going to excel at going crazy!"

Someone at work has spread Splat the mat around the office. It's a fun diversion. I hope to see more that we can hit her with in the future.

There is a bit more on the main site, Yes Essentials, although not as fun as splat the mat.

Of course, I really want to know if it works as easy as that.  It would make things a lot easier.

In personal news, my DSL has been down for two days now.  Turns out, a large portion of Miami has been down.  I didn't feel like complaining to the service person, who actually had nothing to do with the DSL, but I am seriously considering comcast.  And when the DSL comes back up, calling them again to get two days rebate.  I don't understand why I should have to pay for a months worth of DSL, if I'm not getting a months worth.

Here is hoping it is back when I get home.

We've been really busy at work and I haven't had a chance to update this in a while.

The building next to us is almost done.  But before they could finish they had to close of the sidewalk on both sides of the street.  I hate having to walk in the middle of the street to get to my building, but I should be used to it by now.

I do find it funny that the building isn't officially open, but the lights are always on.  What a waste of electricity.

Secret Santa is coming up.  Someone was complaining that since we have to pay for it out of our own money, we should get reimbursed or paid an additional amount to purchase the gift.  I don't really care, but if we could get some extra before the holiday bonus, more power to us.

In good news, it is another lovely 80 degree day in Florida.  I'm lucky I'm down here and not freezing.

I got off early on Wednesday, and took a plane back home.  I'm not going to complain about Miami International Airport; its just not worth it.

Thanksgiving was nice as I got to see the family again.  And the dinner was great, but I feel like I gained 10 pounds.  Uggh.

Ran into some old friends back home.  I'm glad I got a chance to see them.

One of our cousins by marriage is in a huge lawsuit case.  The family didn't want to go over too much, but it is not looking good for that person.

Work has begun again.  Another week.  At least pay day is on Friday, so I can pick up some of the gifts.  I didn't bother with Black Friday.

Only one more day of work this week.  I'm looking forward to the long weekend.  Although I do have some homework.

There is still a lot of noise coming from next door.  Our company is thinking about filling out a class action lawsuit for the mental anguish.

There is a siren, an alarm, the sound of a car peeling out, and a large thumping coming from the building.

Heroes was great last night.  I totally called Noah coming back from the dead with Claire's blood.  Although Mohinder may now go down as one of the dumbest characters in television.

Looking forward to tonight's programs.

Pain
I wish I knew who to complain to next door.  All day there have been annoying sounds coming from the construction process next to our building.  At one point, the beep-beep-beep of a vehicle reversing echoed for an hour.  We were lucky to get a break for lunch.  But now I have a huge headache and still have a little bit before I head home.

This weekend was nice.  The get together was okay; I was expecting something a bit more mellow and intellectual.  I was wrong.  And Saturday got to see a movie I had heard good things about.  Also I bought a 1 GB thumb drive; I remember buying a 256 MB drive for a friend last year for $25, and I got mine for $20.  The insanity that is progress.  Sunday was just nice and relaxing, laying back and watching TV.

Today I found out we have Thursday and Friday off this week.  I am glad, I could use a four day weekend, especially with an old friend coming into town which should be crazy.

I also found a nice Thai place.  It doesn't look like anything special since it is in a food court, but the curry was great, and they cooked it fresh, which really impressed me.  So far we have tried three of the places in that food court, so next time we go, it is either for Chinese, the sub shop, or the Caribbean place.

Great, the heavy equipment is echoing through the site next door.  I want to go home.

I recently moved to Miami.  I was aware of the "lack of seasons" as everyone around here jokes about.

As we moved closer to Winter, the weather got a bit cooler, entering the high 70s, getting close to great weather.

Now a cold front has moved in, and this morning it was in the 50s, and tonight it is estimated to be in the 50s as well.

Granted I have been through much colder, but I was really hoping to have the weather at the high 60s, and be able to go out along the bay and just enjoy it all.

A friend at work is having a get together this evening, which should be fun.  I have been wanting to attend a get together for some time now.

I also really hope I am not getting sick because of the building next door.

So my friend at work pointed me out to this site called Restauratica.com.  There isn't that much yet, but I like the fact that it has the potential to give more information than a lot of the other sites that just list the phone number and hours.

The building next to us is billowing this disgusting smoke into the air.  I don't think its legal.

My coworkers and I had a late night and so we are all a bit tired now.  Luckily today is payday and tomorrow is friday.

I really thought the Jewish Plastic Surgeon was going to get canned in this episode.

Also, are there enough really pretty women with blue eyes in the show?

I think Kal Penn is hilarious as the "Professional Defibrillator."

Did anyone else catch the Senator Craig reference?

This just in: the power just went out in my building today.  A neighbor got stuck in the elevator, poor thing.  Now the AC is out, and it is getting hotter.

Is it winter yet?

Speaking of which, holiday shopping is coming closer and closer.  I wonder what I'm going to get.

I'm a fan of Heroes.  Have been since the first season.  My major complaint is Sylar.  Why hasn't anyone killed him yet?  I know, its James Bond Villain Syndrome, but someone should still kill him.

Also, how did he get from an island to the middle of the Mexican desert?

Of course I also have a complaint about the commercial breaks every few minutes which make it actually seem like 30 minutes of television.

Lastly, we know Mr. Bennet is going to be shot.  I think what is going to happen is he will be shot, but Claire will use her blood to resurrect him.  That or if the company was smart, and knowing Adam's powers to heal, they should have equipped all agents with a vial of Adam's blood in case of emergencies.  At least that is what I would do.

It turns out Michael Robertson is being sued again, by the EMI.

Robertson is the founder of MP3.com, a site I used to frequent for free MP3s.  Yes, I downloaded free MP3s.  I enjoyed discovering new artists like Tristeza, or finding international music to play in the background of my theme parties.

This was, of course, long before Apple discovered that they could make a profit off of fools for purchasing MP3s, which had previously been downloaded and shared for free off numerous sites and p2p programs.

Now, a man who helped spread MP3s is being sued.  Its time like this that I am fortunate for BitTorrent.

I want to travel more.  I feel I haven't explored enough in my lifetime.  I want to see Paris, and Tokyo.  Just means I need to save up more.

I want to get a cat.  Its been too long since I've had one.

I want to find some good restaurants in my area.  Any suggestions?

I want to be more active.  I guess I have some time to do jogging in the afternoon.  It would be nice to lose a few pounds before Thanksgiving.

I want to know who is reading this, so please feel free to comment and give suggestions
